Toasted Sesame Seeds
  1. Preheat convection oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. On sheet pan, spread sesame seeds in thin layer.
  3. Bake, stirring once, until lightly toasted and aromatic, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool.
Carrot Sesame Hummus
  1. Heat water in pot on stove.
  2. In metal strainer or colander, steam carrots over boiling water until soft, 20 to 25 minutes. Drain. Chill.
  3. In food processor, combine cooked carrots, tahini paste, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and salt. Process until smooth.
  4. Combine carrot mixture and toasted sesame seeds. Mix well.
  5. Serve with fresh cut vegetables or pita bread.
